FAQ
The FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)
What is your style?
Documentary, clean and modern, with a mixture of natural light and flash to create classic results. I don’t do Instagram-type filters that look dated in 5 years but create images you will be proud to show off to the next generation.
Why choose me as your wedding photographer?
I’m relaxed and fun, I won’t get in your way, but I can lend a helping hand when you need it most!
Do you do mid-week discounts?
Yes, 10% Monday to Friday during school term time.
What is the deposit, and when is it due?
A deposit of £250 is due with a signed contract at the time of booking. This secures the date of your wedding.
What kit do you use?
I use a professional Canon Mirrorless kit (R5 and R6 for the camera geeks) with various lenses and lighting gear. I always work with at least two cameras throughout the day and carry spares of everything, hair clips, hair spray, plasters, and all sorts of things that you might find helpful on a wedding day. So should there be an issue, I can quickly switch to alternatives.
Is travel extra?
Travel is included within about an 80min drive from Bridgend, South Wales. Outside of this, travel and accommodation fees may apply.
Do you have insurance?
I am fully professionally insured and registered with HMRC, Bridgend County Borough Council, and Business Wales.
Are you a member of any professional bodies?
Yes, I’m a Guild of Photographers member and working towards accredited status.
Do you have a second photographer?
I have a couple of second shooters I work regularly with – let me know if you’d like me to arrange one for all or part of the day.
How long does it take to get our photos?
I usually aim to get some quick edits/sneak peeks back to you within a couple of days of the wedding. Fully edited galleries delivered on USB take up to 4-8 weeks depending on the season.
How many pictures will we receive?
For a full-day wedding, usually a minimum of 400-600.
What does “all-day coverage” mean?
All-day coverage means I start with Bridal preparations and work through to just after the first few dances. Typically I will start 3 hours before you’re ready to leave for the ceremony, and finish around 9 pm after some fantastic dancing shots!
What format are files supplied in?
High resolution jpeg.
How do we order prints?
You and your guests can order prints direct from your online gallery.
How do we select photos for our album?
You will be able to select these from your online gallery. I will design an album for you and send proofs back for you to approve.
I hate having my photos taken!
Don’t panic; I’ll spend most of the day in the background, quietly documenting you and your guests. If you’re nervous, I highly recommend a pre-shoot/engagement shoot to help you relax and get to know me.
When you book me, you’ll get someone who is passionate about capturing the memories of your day as it happens, I’ll often catch the little things that are so easy to miss. I take a real documentary approach throughout the day, I’m not a show-off who makes a big scene. Still, I take the time to work with you and pose you in your couple portraits so that you get beautiful and personal images that you’re proud to put on your walls and show off in a range of beautifully presented albums.
I love to see photographs where they should be: printed and on display rather than hidden away. I’m passionate about preserving your memories for years and generations to come, and the best way to ensure this is to professionally print your photographs. I still have an 1880s albumen print of my great great grandmother who worked as a photographic assistant painting colour onto black and white photos.
